On behalf of the Supreme Court, Judge Mai Qing from Guangxi High Court and Judge Huang Siqi from Beihai Maritime Court, who were accompanied by the staff from Shanghai MSA, visited CMS Shanghai Branch on June 21, 2012. Ms. Kuang Shiling, Ms. Wang Meng and Mr. Han Ke from CMS attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Mr. Han Ke introduced the business of CMS to the judges, and then made a speech on several legal disputes regarding the compensation for oil pollution damage from vessels including some typical cases.

Both parties in great depth exchanged and discussed the ideas on how to understand and apply the relevant domestic laws, regulations and international conventions, particularly the Supreme Court’s Rules on the Certain Issues with respect to the Trial of Cases of Disputes on Compensation for Oil Pollution Damage from Vessels which entered into force in July 1, 2011.
