Well known to many people in the Chinese P&I correspondent community, and now in its 9th consecutive year, “the Huatai Maritime Hotspots Seminar” saw more than thirty attendees gather in Guiyang, Guizhou province, one of beautiful hilly lands with grand waterfalls and minority culture in the Southwest of China.

The group comprised, as usual, a broad cross-section of lawyers, surveyors, and P&I staffs from Hong Kong. The topics in connection with following points were raised and discussed.

(1) Maritime Administration Compulsory Implementation Procedure (draft);

(2) Legal and insurance issues with regards to Piracy risks;

(3) Compensation limitation of liability claims;

(4) Cargo delivery dispute and Forwarder liability; and

(5) Crew injury compensation
