Article 14That sludge which do not comply with Article 12 and are forbidden to discharge into sea should be discharged to proper receiving equipments in port or be received by qualified receiver. The operator should conclude contract with approved sludge receivers before discharging the sludge.

 

Article 17: After the operation, a receiving document with the type and amount of sludge, and the Master’s signature should be issued by sludge receiver to the ship. The names of receiver and both vessels, the period and location of operation, and the type and amount of sludge should be recorded in the document.

 

The ship should bring her record book and the receiving document to the MSA to apply for the receiving certificate and keep the certificate in her record book.

 

Article 18: The ship trading on international voyage should discharge all the sludge before departing from Chinese port and present the receiving certificate to the MSA for port clearance.
